will 240 volt equipment run ok on 208 volt? i'm installing a new service 200 amp 3 phase all they need power for is a doublewide office trailer & a 3 phase 5hp band saw & maybe some yard lights in the future. the power company talked the owner into going 120/208 volt service. my problem, trailer & saw are 400 miles away & i don't know what the nameplate reads. the only thing in the trailer that would be affected is the heat & ac, the saw i have no idea how old or the voltage requirements. so if the power company install 208 & the heat/ac & saw are 240 volt i'm i going to have problems. thanks for your insight

Heat and AC probably won't make much difference to those... The heat, the wattage output will change. The AC may or may not make a bit of difference in output. And if the system change will or will not work would be easy to check by looking up the model number from where you're sitting right now. "Old saw" could be a bit of a problem for it. The wye delta swap could starve it for power, or just fail to start at all. Rewiring it for wye might be able to be done.

400 miles is quite a commute??? Sounds like you won't know till you get there?

trailer & saw are coming to me, it wouldn't be delievered until the service is done. then it will be to late to change.
