208Y/120 - 3P - 4W - Voltage Measurements

Location:
Commercial Strip Mall
Main Panel located inside of a commercial building.

Use the following information for the next questions. Assume actual measurements read nominal voltages.

(Measure between any 2 phase legs)

Is the 208V considered Line Voltage when measured at the Main Panel within a Building?

(Measure between any 1 phase legs and Neutral Buss Bar, or Grounding Buss Bar)

Is the 120V considered Phase Voltage when measured at the Main Panel within a Building?

Should this question be posted under another forum topic?

Thanks,

Re: 208Y/120 - 3P - 4W - Voltage Measurements

In electrical engineering terms, the 208V is line voltage and the 120V is phase voltage. That convention may not be so strictly used in the field, but it is the standard way to describe voltages. It would apply to any wye voltage reading you take, not just one at a main panel.
