210.23 - Question about wiring for 27A Coffee Pot

I have a 220V 27A (6000W) coffee maker.
I believe I should be able to wire it with 10 AWG, and a 30A breaker, however, I'm confused why it has a 50A plug with 8AWG wire?

Is there any reason I would have to wire with 8AWG and 35A breaker if connected to a single receptacle?
Thanks

IMO #10 conductors, 30 amp OCPD device and 50 amp single receptacle/cord is code compliant.

6000/240=25 amps

Agreed.

I guess I am on the "cautious" side with some loads.

Plus, 3% Voltage drop on 30A gives on a total of 60' max for #10 awg. Perhaps OK, perhaps not.
