I read this as if I meet all the criteria in (2) and there is no means to mount the receptacle, you don't have to. Am I reading this right?
I have an flat countertop on a peninsula that extends 16in. on the back and 12in. on the side..... The front is draws and cabinets. Is this exception allowing me to install the outlet on the peninsula? Or now saying it is not required?
That point might be too far from the end of the peninsula to meet the requirements (if it is a long peninsula.) It could be separated from the peninsula proper by the depth of the counter it attaches to.If it's a peninsula, What is prohibiting you from mounting the receptacle where the peninsula meets the wall?
