210.70 (1), Switch Near an Entrance to the room

Hello All, Does 210.70 (1), (2020 and 2023 NEC), require a switch at "every" entrance to a room? For example, a living room with an exterior door, an archway going into a kitchen and an archway going into a family room on the other side of the room. Seems to me the code is only requiring one switch and it must be near one of those entrances.
