Alright I'm must be the most stupidest contractor out there. I have always installed 2- 3 ways in habitable rooms with two entrances to control lighting in that room. I just read article 210-70 for the first time in 30 years and realize that it does not require more one switch, or even tell you where to but it. So according to the code 2017. I can locate the switch across the room any where? Please tell me that I haven't wasted hundreds of dollars installing two.

Thanks

You've wasted a bunch. (I didn't say hundreds though)

Obviously some do as this is what I found in a new installation after another contractor left. I told the owner that the previous contractor was in violation and didn't know how it got inspected. When I asked the inspector why this got by he told me it was UN enforceable. The code is a tool for the inspector to ensure what most of us deem common sense. Other's use to do a poor job and get away with it unfortunately.

You might need to read article section 90.1(A),(B), and (C) before you get to critical, not everyone wants to by a Cadillac when they only need a Kia.

Yep, and if you are bidding spec houses, the guy bidding a Kia instead of a Caddy is prolly win the bid.

Then turn the KIA around and make it look like a cadillac with the extra $$$.
