I was looking through the 2008 code book section 220.44 for calculation of diversity on receptales. This code states that "Receptacle loads calculated in accordance with 220.14(H) and (I) shall be permitted to be made subject to the demand factors given in Table 220.42 or Table 220.44"
If you refer to the 2008 section 220.14(I) it states "Except as covered in 220.14(J) and (K), receptacle outlets shall be calculated at NOT LESS THAN 180 volt-amperes for each single or for each multiple recpetacle on one yoke."
This changed between 2002 and 2005 as the 2002 code reads that receptacles shall be calculated at not more than 180 volt-amperes
So does this mean i can take diversity on any receptacle that I calc at more than 180VA? If i have a receptacle that I intend for another use such as the possiblility of a computer and calc at more than 180VA can i take diversity of Table 220.44 on those as well?
