Can table 220.44 be applied to commercial buildings other than banks and offices or banks and offices?

I realize that you use 1 VA per square foot or 180 VA per yoke and omit the smaller per 220.14 (K) (2) Just not clear on when you are permitted to use 220.44. Thanks

I would use Table 220.44 when calculating the service or feeder load but if I was calculating the load for a branch circuit then I would use 180va. Now I know there are members here that will say you can have as many receptacles on a circuit as you want however any test you take will use 180va per receptacle for calculating branch circuits

Thanks for the reply. So can you use 220.44 to demand factor services only in banks and offices or is 220.44 allowed to be used in say a store or a school etc...?
