Wow, whatta nightmare! Load calcs blow! chunks that is. so do customers that need me to do three different sets of load calcs for free to get work. please notice little green guy is about to puke!!!

ok, BIG house well, 5200sq ft. BIG to me anyway. She's got all kinds of stuff upstairs, and had one apt downstairs and wants one more downstairs. I have tried every which way to make this work on a 200A service, and on a single family res i get btwn 265 and 275A. no way jose'. However under multifamily dwelling unit calcs, i'm in like Flynn, but I CANT USE THEM unless she gets a building permit from the county to do this, and she CAN'T! because she isnt zoned for it nor could she because of her too small septic system. The inspectors say 'no multi family permit, no usie multi family calcs!" so there.

Then i stumble upon art 220.82 and .83 .83 seems about the same as .82 when you go to calc the existing house's load. I STILL cant get three kitchens/units under the 200A limit. BUT....

Here is what i came up with, just wondering if you are so bored that you might want to take a look and see if i blow it anywhere:

Existing: 5200sf at 3W ... 15,600
4 kits ckts, d/w&disp on another
two laundry, microwave 8 sm. appl at 1500 ea or...... 12,000

Septic and furnace i guessed 15A combined for both at 120V 1,800

no current hot water heater HWH -

2 dryers at 5000 each another guestimate 10,000

Cooktop at 20Ax240 yes another guess 4,800

Double oven, guess again at 30Ax240 = 7,200

3 PICK A WATTS 2250x3 equals 6,750

and a small range downstairs, i got no idea so 8,000
_______
SO... now i add them all up, 66,150 take the first 8000 at 100% and the
rest at 40% so 66,150-8000= 58,150 x .40 = 23,260 + 8,000

add 3 more picawatts + 6,750
Add too, a big hot water heater for the whole house 30Ax240 (guessing agin) or.... 7,200
______
45,210
/240=188Amps
Question: did i do this right? or did i blow it somewhere. thanks to any and all who help. I like having that extra 12Amps of wiggle room for stuff i might have forgotten, oh like uh.... gulp...heat pump or something? :slaphead:

btw the post doesnt look the same as the way it did when i wrote it, so you have to go with the flow, the total watts was the 66,150 and the 40% of the rest (58,150) was the 23,260.
