220.84 Optional calculations for Multi-Family Dwelling unit.
Wondering if anyone also uses this for hotel/motel calculations, adding the 8kW electric range as required for the units which do not already have the range.

Are these long term stay 'Guest suites'? last time I compared the NEC definition of 'guest suite' with 'dwelling unit' it seemed if you provide 'provisions for cooking' in a guest suite it can be also be considered a dwelling unit.
Provisions for cooking could be really open for interpretation.

No, just your run of the mill 'Holiday Inn' Style hotel with a handful of efficiency rooms which have the cooking permanently installed. Everything else is pretty much the same as MF Dwelling except water heaters are central (gas) instead of per unit. I figure add the 8Kw range (Provisions for cooking) and you have a MF dwelling. If not I can just do the calc the long way for service size.
