I have a project where the dwelling unit HVAC is provided with central VRF heat pump units. Every 3-5 apartments are fed with one heat pump system with multiple indoor HVAC fan coils. But the heat pump is on house service, not dwelling unit panels. The dwelling units are all electric with electric cooking and heat pump dryers.
Does this setup qualify for the diversification factor allowed on 220.84? If i put all the common HVAC on a separate service, I don't believe there diversification will apply. I am thinking if I put the HVAC systems on the same service with the dwelling units, i might qualify for the 220.84 factors except that the HVAC units will not be fed from the dwelling units but from separate panels. Anyone had to deal with such thing? Thanks in advance.
