220.85 Two Dwelling units

In Mike Holt Exam prep book page 309 Figure 10-35 it says “Where 2 dwelling units are supplied by a single feeder/service, and the calculated load under 220 Part III exceeds that for 3 identical units calculated under 220.84, the lesser of the 2 loads is permitted.”

However, 220.85 says 2 dwelling units that are supplied by a single feeder. It does not say service.

Am I missing something?
 
In an apartment or multifamily unit you usually have feeders going to the apartments. The disconnects should be grouped so that usually puts a disconnect for each unit outside or in a basement and then a feeder to the apartments
