220v Plug Switch- Dryer OR Sauna

I have a personal sauna that requires a 220v, 40amp circuit for operation. I've just relocated and am living in a rental home which does not have additional capacity in the breaker pannel for another 220v circuit.

I'd like to use the 220v circuit that currently feeds the clothes dryer in the basement and locate the sauna with-in 10 feet from this power source. The wireing is good (10/3) and can support 40 amps. To prevent constant unpluging and switching between the clother dryer and sauna with the dryer recepticle, I'd like to build a switch that will feed one device at a time from a junction box. The junction box would have an outlet for the dryer in addition to a feed out to the sauna. The voltage would be supplied by a 4 prong 220v plug that would interface the existing dryer socket in the wall.

I've searched the Internet for a switch of this nature and can't seem to find one. Does an A/B switch of this nature exist or would it need to be constructed with 4 relays? Any EEs that can help with the wiring diagram or supplies sourcing?

10/3 can not 'support' 40 amps, the max breaker size in your application is 30 amps. See NEC 240.4(D).

I strongly suggest you hire an electrician to do this work.
