I have a site that has has two structure with a conveyor system that runs from one end of first structure to the other end of the second structure. With a conveyor running between the two. My problem is that we have the motor control center in the first structure, can I feed the motors in the second structure from the MCC in the first and comply with 225.30. I just finish a coal conveyor system at a power plant where we feed many motors from an Electrical Room to three different structures. Article 225.30 says only one feeder or branch circuit is permitted. I very confused, Any help would me good

I would get a definition from the ahj on this. IMO, it would be two structures but a roof between two structures would make them one so perhaps this conveyor system joins the two building into one.

If the ahj says it is two structures then you could not feed from the first building to the second with 2 feeders.

Or you'd have to be liberal with the exceptions. You can have a 3-way switch setup between buildings as an additional circuit. If you need to control or power the conveyor belt from both ends, that may be judged to be similar to the 3-way switch exception.

But you'll most likely need to contact the inspector for guidance on this one.
