Hello
I am wandering if you'all can shine some light on this. what I have is upgraded service from a
200 amp to a 400 amp service I paralleled 3-0 to two 200 amp disconects one will feed the existing pnl inside that will become a sub-panel and the other will feed a new pnl in the new part of the building.
How many plaques do I need to comply with 225.37 and what should be on the plaque?

Thanks MDH

Re: 225.37

Are all the service disconnect handles in the same location? It sounds like they are.

If these feeders are all feeding panels in the same building, you don't have outside feeders, so Article 225 wouldn't apply.

Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture. It doesn't sound like you need a plaque at all, IMO.

yes the disconects are grouped on the outside and the sub panels inside are not grouped,
they are in seperate parts of the commercial building.

Re: 225.37

From what I understand of your installation I agree with George, article 225.37 does not apply to the disconnects at the service.

225.37 applies to the disconnect at a separate structure.

It sounds like the two - 200 amp disconnects in your post are Service Disconnects in that case 230.70 applies.

230.72 Grouping of Disconnects.
(A) General. The two to six disconnects as permitted in 230.71 shall be grouped. Each disconnect shall be marked to indicate the load served.
A simple plaque that states the load will do it.

We often make them like this.

"Service Disconnect 1 of 2"
Panel X

"Service Disconnect 2 of 2"
Panel Y
