Greetings all I am looking a replacing and relocating a rusted out main lug equipment pool panel in a shed.
The catch is it has 5 circuits in it.
Its fed by a 10/3 UF cable and the feeder disconnecting means is a two pole 30A breaker at the pool house.
Looking at 225.39 it says the 'feeder or branch circuit disconnecting means' not 'panel disconnect'.
So 225.39 is talking about the breaker that's ahead of and shuts off the feeder and it needs to be rated at least 60 amps.
I get that it does not say OCPD and I reviewed some old discussions we had on here over a decade ago but am still unsure if I am interpreting it correct.

I was previously considering just replacing the panel and backfeeding a 60A breaker in the panel until I remembered this section.
I suppose I could add a 60A non-fused disconnect on the pool house after the 30A breaker then the feeder disconnect would be rated 60 amps.
I have not done a load calc but I am pretty sure the pump and lights are below 7200VA
Thoughts opinions?

I believe 225.39 Just states the disconnect has to be rated 60 amps. If the 10/3 has a dp 30 at the house then just back feed a dp 60, in the new panel. Of course if you are on the 2020 code you cannot use a 6 handle rule in one panel so the breaker would need to a main.

Thanks Dennis I was over thinking 'feeder disconnect'
