A new building is being supplied from a utility pad mount XFMR. Original design had a 2400A SWBD with a main breaker and (4) 800A feeder breakers. Due to lead time issues on the gear the decision has been made to change the gear out for (4) 800A service disconnect switches mounted adjacent to each other in its place. My question is this: Do the 8 sets of 600kcmill cables have to terminate on a buss or tap block and then taps run to each disconnect or can we just run (2) sets of cable to each disconnect from the pad XFMR?

Thanks,

You can run sets to each disconnect.
IF you elect to run a common tap point you can base that run on the calculated load (not the sum of the disconnects) which might be less expensive.
