230.54 (E) Separately bushed openings- does this matter for single phase residential services? I’m new and trying to figure this out.. Do single phase services have conductors of different potential?
Or is this just for 3 phase services?

It applies to 1ph and 3ph.

Only paralleled wires of the same phase would not have different potential between them.

The intent is to have insulating material between the wires in addition to that on the wires.

Any standard weatherhead has a plastic insert that accomplishes what they're referring to.
