Morning everyone

I'm looking at a set of plans, that have #8 copper tapped, line side, to a 60 amp rated disconnect with 30 amp fuses. Looking at the title mentioned code, does this wire need to be #6 to meet the rating of the disconnect, or are 8s sufficient because of the fuses ratings? This is also for a PV installation.

Not certain if there is anything in other articles that would apply because it is a PV install.

I think it maybe slightly confusing but if you read language of 10 foot tap rule and compare it to 25 foot rule you will see:

That "equipment" mentioned in (b) in the 10 foot tap rule possibly allows more than one overcurrent device where the wording for the 25 foot tap rule clearly says it must be a single overcurrent device supplied by the tap.

If you are only supplying a single overcurrent device (30 amp fuses) then 30 amps is your minimum conductor ampacity.
