Several questions.
1. I don't understand, i thought there was a 6 foot rule foot rule for taps on recessed or flush lumineers? 240.5 B2 Does not apply?
2. What about surface mount? 240.5 B2 apply?
3. Is a recessed and flush the same thing? Random question, I'm Thinking yes.
 
Maybe I'm missing something here. I was hoping someone could have jumped on this and cleared it up quickly LOL!
It's just part of my schooling and can't quite get it. Thanks for any replies....

240.5 B2 is the general rule and always applies. 410.117C just gives you more strict requirements then the general rule for flush/recessed luminaires, which are same thing other then somewhat minor technicalities I guess.

Majority of your recessed luminaires are listed with the junction box already attached. The tap conductors are part of the listed product and you don't need to concern yourself if they meet code or not as they are covered by the listing.
