I received an email question regarding 240.6 Standard Ampere Ratings with the question, why is 601 amps listed as one of the additional standard ampere ratings?

Does anyone have a practical answer for this question?

Thanks.

This is to permit a 600 (basically) ampere fuse to be used in the next size fuse holder without using an adapter. :D

This is some good info that I will share with those who asked the question. It was not Girlgenious- the questions came via. one of my previous students who works for a mine in WY

Steve: Welcome to the forum. The 601 amp is a good question and I've wondered why myself.

I've always assumed that the "601" was meant to be interpreted as "anything over 600".

By the way, there are lots of "bolt-on" fuses that are less than 600 amp rating.
