240 Volt Dimmer

Question:

I have a nice 240 volt 1500 watt halogen fixture that puts out great light. Does anyone make a dimmer that would handle this? Dimming panels are not the solution. This is for residential use (ie: above a garage parking area)

Install a double-throw switch and set it up so that the alternative position feeds only 120 Volts to the fixture. You'll get ? output from that setup ..

Other than using a dimmer and associated back-box from the UK, I'm not sure that there is any resi solution other than a traditional dimmer rack.
