I have a question- is it necessary to install a gfi breaker for a 240 v pool heater. The unit isnt anywhere near the pool its aprox 25 feet away in a separate location.I dont do much pool work and Im not sure.I will call my inspector in the am but thought I would ask here 1st.
Thanks Rick

680.9 and 680.26(E) refer to Electric Pool Water Heaters. I do not see anything in article 680 that would require GFCI protection. I think the heater would need to be bonded to the pool, but that is all I see. Others who have had more experince with pool intalls may have other opinions...
