24VDC grounding

This metal box will be powered by a 24VDV .500ma wall wart transformer, Does the metal box need to be grounded?

If the feed is isolated, I don't think so. Might have a signal ground to the box.

Thank you zbang, I admit I do not know if my feed would be isolated, It would be one wall wart feeding only this enclosure, Also what is a signal ground? are you referring to the encoder wire shield?
