24VDC Power System

I have system composed of a large battery string, rectifier, and distribution.

The common is earth grounded at this source.

The load equipment is 24VDC valves, transducers, controls and PLC.

How should the common at the load be treated?

We work with 24 vdc control systems all the time an I might be able to help you but I can't figure out just what it is you are asking about the common. Are you asking about color coding of the grounded current carrying conductor? Are you asking about the difference between a GCCC and an equipment ground?
