25' tap rule

ok, here's one. Branch ckt. to supply an elevator controller. Comes from a mlo panel rated 200 amps. Boss wants to run 3/0 cu. from a shunt trip breaker sized at 125A, go to the disconnect 25 ft. away then fuse the load side at 60A for a 25hp. motor on the elevator. Obviously, the fuses are much too small for the motor, but I say the 25ft. tap rule applies and the whole thing can be done in #3 conductors fused at 100A at the disconnect, and the 125A breaker in the mlo panel is just the tap point. The motor appears to draw around 74.8A if memory serves and the end result after 125% around 95A. (sorry, put the calculator away,) but those figure are close enough if memory serves.
