I'm wondering if it is possible to use rigid metal conduit as an equipment grounding conductor for a motor in a class1 division 2 environment .

Pump guy took the outlet box off the motor and installed pump to motor because that’s how existing motor was.

Difference is new motor doesn’t have a egc coming from pottoted motor connection to j box

I’m wondering if I need to install the outlet box back on the new motor as that’s where the egc lug is located? Reroute my conduit and install a wire type egc inside the raceway from jbox to outlet box.

Picture 1 is the existing motor and pump. Had a wire type egc from motor to j box

Picture 2 is the new motor. doesn’t have a wire type egc.

The code permits the conduit to be the ground but don't forget about this part "The locknut-bushing and double-locknut types of contacts shall not be depended on for bonding purposes, but bonding jumpers with identified fittings or other approved means of bonding shall be used." This applies back to the location of the system or main bonding jumper, which ever applies.
