I have question I have two motors in one circuit total MCA of 18 amps. So phase conductor size I have is #12 awg with 30 amp feeder circuit breaker.

Now if I go to NEC 250.122 (D), do I have to size my equipment grounding conductor as #12Awg or #10Awg? I guess I am confused because 250.122 (D) says go to 250.122 (A) which says in no case shall equipment gnd conductor be req to be larger than ckt conductors supplying the equipment but then says min size should be per table 250.122.

SO in reading this it looks like #12 is the correct size equipment grounding conductor. 250.122d tells you it can't be larger than the circuit conductor(by way of 250.122 A. D2 applies to the breaker type your using. But either way the #12 is the correct size.

With an MCA of 18 amps depending on the wiring method you may be able to use #14 conductors. If you used #12 conductors then 250.122(B) would apply and the EGC would need to be #12 also.
