1. Section 250.146(A)

2. Revise the text

3. ....At least one of the insulating retaining washers for the installation screws shall be removed from receptacles that do not have contact yoke....

Italics = deleted word

Bold = added text

4. The purpose of the washer is for retaining the screw for shipping, not insulating the receptacle. Calling it an insulating washer is not accurate. This will provide clarity.

I have a letter from Leviton Engineering Dept. stating the washe,r though having insulating properties, is not intended to act as an insulating medium between the receptacle and box. I will submit this letter with the proposal.

Re: 250.146(A)

It seems like a good proposal to me. BTW, any supporting documentation will help the panel make their decision on any proposal as long as it is not too verbose. :D

It has never even occured to me, but what an obvious concern.

Documentation?

It's a very astute observation Bryan.

The only question is whether the screw and threads handle the neccesary connectiion without strap contact.
