Just to verify,

If a shop with a concrete floor is fed with a Feeder, and, has a piece of rebar stubbed out of the concrete, but, has no metal water pipes, metal support structures, ground rings, rod and pipe electrodes or plate electrodes installed, that one rebar concrete encased electrode can serve as the sole point of contact for the grounding electrode conductor at the structure with no need for any other GEC's to be installed, correct?

You would not necessarily know. You would need to ask the concrete guys. Or you pound two rods and connect what maybe is a cee to the two rods and call it a day.

If they bothered to do so.

A couple of ground rods are maybe $30. A few minutes to pound them in. Most cases it's a hundred dollar fix. Won't save any money trying to avoid it.

I generally lay 2 rods in the ditch regardless, but, was questioned as to why the added expense if the CCE is available for connection already.
