I have light circuit 277V single phase in commericial warehouse. The conduit used is EMT and its being used as equipment grounding conductor.

The plans note to use locknut per NEC 2014 section 250.97.

I see that 250.92(B)(3) allows other listed devices such as bonding type locknuts.

Question:
1. Would it be code compliant 250.92(B)(3) to use just bonding type locknut no bonding jumper just bonding type locknuts?

2. Can bonding type locknut be used on EMT?

I think your engineer is referring to the exception to 250.97 when he states this. So, you are able to use a standard emt connector with normal locknut, unless there are oversize knockouts, or concentric eccentric KOs where the box isn't listed for proper ground. Note that even with the second, if you have a 1/2 3/4 ko and you are using the 3/4 then it is no longer eccentric.
