hey guys I know this is the wrong thread, but I'm new to this site. But does anyone know whether you can run conduit into a panel that is removable on a 2500 amp disconnect? I've never done it and have been told thats a no no. Need some clarification if you can

So you're saying the panel (like a side wall) that is part of the disconnect is removable and you want to make some knock outs there in that removable panel for conduit?

Regardless of what NEC states, this could be more of a product specific question.

Perhaps a sketch is in order. I am not sure what you mean by "removable".

In general, this would appear to be something that would be a design decision or maybe a listing issue as opposed to a code issue.

In any case, just about anything is "removable" if you take it apart enough. It is not real hard to add unions going to the disconnect that can be taken apart and just disconnect the wires to allow the disconnect to be removed.

We use the removable covers all of the time to enter and exit large switches. As long as the access to the internal parts isn't compromised by making the cover inaccessible there isn't a problem. Do you mean removable covers like this?

Is there a switch behind those covers that need to be readily accessible?
if there was a switch there would it be considerated as readily accessible?
