250V 2 pole outlets in garage

Hello good people. I need to locate in the NEC the handling of 2pole 240V receptacles in garage area. Obviously 120v receipt. have to be gfi. What is the procedure for 2 pole outlets in damp locations? Thx in advance.

Is it really a damp location? most garages I see wouldn't be.

i wouldnt think a 240v rec would have to be gfi in a garage bc usually 240v receptacels are for specific equipment.ive installed 240v plugs in commercial kitchens were it was not gfci.210.8 under gfci protection says all 120v single phase 15 and 20I in the locations specified shall have gfci protection.
