3/4 flex conduit within code?

I have a low voltage installation and there is a pillar that is 2 1/2 feet from a counter that is set in the middle of a room.

My client wants me to swag a flexible conduit with 6 Cat5e cables inside from the column to the base of the counter thus leaving a hazardous condition as it will drape across the floor.

I don't have a problem doing this, however I wanted to be sure it was within code. The only thing I can find is that code mandates that it not create a hazardous condition, but does not state by who's definition.

Does anyone have any insight on this...???

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

You might be better off using one of those heavy rubber "speed-bumps" that have a cable slot in the underside.

The AHJ will tell you if its a hazardous condition.

James, for one the 'AHJ' is rarely the one who looks at the job.

The other issue is what code section could be cited?

That said I agree with Larry's idea or I was thinking of a metal floor raceway made by wiremold...I think its called 'pancake' but I am not sure.

It's basically a metal speed bump with a raceway inside, it is made for this use.

FMC is not permitted to be used where subject to physical damage. Installed across the floor may be considered exposed to physical damage by the inspector [348,12(7)]. I would call him and ask him before using it. As has been mentioned, there are other methods that would be acceptable.
