an actual victorian type home with 3 floors and a cellar that currently houses 9 and is having an expansion done that will provide a basement and 3 floors on the back side of the home and I would say will allow a total of at least 15 students to live there upon completion. It has sprinklers installed and a fire alarm system tied into the university. I am seeing it actually meeting the criteria of a single family dwelling unit per NEC definition. My colleagues say type NM can't be used but I cannot find any code references that will support this argument.
