Okay, my dad is remodeling his shop and has hit a snag in rewiring his 3 phase air compressors. The electrician says that only one set of leads can go off the service entrance breaker, so the 3 phase has to be fed through the main breaker. My dad disagree's and says he can't imagine why the NEC would require such a stupid thing.
So I am asking where in the NEC it says that only one set of leads can go off the service breaker. I tried looking it up myself, but my eye's always glazed over whenever I look at the NEC code book I have. I'm not even sure if I am in the right part.
The point is, I need help.
