Hi
Here I ahve a 3 phase 400 Volt elevator circuit.In contract drawing panel board schadule, it is mentioned that Elevator 40 HP , and in load section 14077 VA each phase.The circuit run is 400 feet.How to calculate the voltage drop?We are using 2 awg (35 mm2)wire.Which load i have to take? 40 HP 0r 14077*3 ?

Thanks in Advance

Re: 3 phase voltage drop

Either way, you have approx. 60-amperes of load.

I would take 14077 x 3 = 42231/400/1.732=60-amperes.

VD = 2 x 12.87 x 400 x 60 / 66360 = 9.3 volts dropped. Thats around 2% or so.
