Customer would like a 3 way motion detector situation for lighting up a driveway beside his house. Would like the soffit lights on his house to come on when he drives his car from either direction. Thank you for your suggestions.

I would think that you could put one motion sensor on each end and wire the switch legs from each one to the soffit lights. Make sure both motion sensors are on the same circuit.

I have this EXACT same issue at a jobsite. We did two different motion detectors pointing in opposite directions and connected them in parallel.

Yeah, it's not a "three way" but it worked. Motion is tripped coming in from either side. (mine was an isle at a factory, kind of a hallway where a typical three-way switch would be on both ends)

Or can be a "beam break" like on a garage door to trigger a contactor. Then you can have low voltage setup for a long distance to the ends of driveway, instead of running line voltage all the way down and back.

We do this a lot. Motion sensor and floods on all 4 corners any motion seen turns on all lights.
