Can 3 way travelers from two different panels share the same conduit ?
I say no, but where would I find that in the code book,

Why do you say no? If you can mix 277 volt wiring with 120 volt wiring wouldn't they have to originate in 2 different panels? The answer is yes.

That rule might be a job spec. Check with bdlg mat. or G.C. We worked at a job and had to identify each voltage by colors on conduit and j-boxes. :D

Note that when running the travelers in a ferrous raceway, you must also have one of the following in the same raceway, the hot, the switch leg or the grounded conductor.

Hank,
You have to have all of the conductors of the circuit in the same raceway or cable. If you don't you have magnetic fields set up that can cause problems. Not likely to have major problems with the currents from a lighting circuit, but it will set up a magnetic field that some say is harmful, even at low levels. When you have all of the conductors in the same raceway or cable, the fields cancel for the most part.

Jim, the neutral is not the only conductor that would cancel the EMF, so it is not necessarily needed in the raceway, what is necessary is to have the circuits current flowing in two directions in conductors along side, or atleast in close proximity to each other, or in the same raceway.

This can be the feed and travelers or the switch leg and travelers

So are you saying that a dead end 3 way in emt is ok ?
