My house was built in 1998. I am replacing the oven. Coming out of the wall for the 220V are three wires. Two black, look like 6 gauge, and one large stranded bare wire, that looks to be the same size as the black wires. The stranded wire seems to be aluminum, and I am thinking the two black wires may also be aluminum. I am not sure how to tell. The new oven has 4 wires Red, Black, White and Green. Do I attach the two black wires from the wall to the red and black from the stove and then connect both the ground and the white to the stranded bare wire? If the wire in the wall is aluminum, do I need special connectors?
