Inspector wants gfci on 30 amp rv receptacle .the receptacle will mounted on side of house next to driveway with in use cover ?
After talking with the again asking for code reference he changed his mind. ( SAD) THANKS FOR THE REPLY.
Once the 17 is adopted, it will be GFCId
Do you have a code section for that?
I'd presume this is 120V and not 240V, tho I'm not aware of any current (2014 or older) code that would allow that circuit to not be GFCI protected. Is it because it is not a 15/20A receptacle?
Until 2017 outdoor recpts more than 20A and more than 120V did not require GFCI protection. Now almost all do, including 480/277V.
Man oh man did I hose up that post. What I was meant to say was that before 2017 the only outdoor recpts that required GFCI protection were 15 and 20A 120V circuits, anything higher, voltage or amperage wise was excluded.Did you mean "or"? 30 amp RV circuits are 120v. 50 amp RV circuits are 240v.
