30" rule apply for UPS'??

I am a corporate trainer for a large telecom company. In one of my labs, we have several UPS systems,
3k, 6k, and a 12 k UPS systems...

the big one has its battery rack 2" away to the side from the UPS controller. front is clear. The distro panel is 2" from that. All of these are ~16" from a glass window on a 12" raised floor.

All breakers can be reached however there is a open frame relay rack all but touching the corner of the battery rack. Two access panels have limited access due to the closeness of adjacent units.

These units supply primary power to equipment in two adjacent rooms.

Where do UPS's fit into the panel clearance issue?

thanks

110.16 is the section for arc blast protection.
110.26 covers working clearances. Working clearance is only required for servicing energized equipment.

If it fits, you must live with it. If you build it, they will come...and fill the space anyway :D
