300.10 -Regarding MC Jacket

If MC is used to feed a piece of equipment ( open bottom , or a sign), according to 300.10, shouldn’t the MC terminate at such with a fitting and be mechanically connected to the box or equipment? ( And on both ends of the MC). Thanks.
