When did the NEC start requiring an "Insulated" bushing to be installed on a SE cable fitting.?

I just got a red tag for a 4/0 4/0 4/0 4 awg SE cable entering a disconnect through a UL listed NM type 2" connector that has a well rounded throat. But it is just not insulated. Would the Insulation on the SE cable count for the insulation?

I have never been giged for this before.

The inspector did say if I could find the reason in the NEC that would allow it without having a insulated throat he would remove the tag. but I can't find anything that would?

They haven't, the requirement is for raceways only.

Using that logic he could also say he wants all the lighting fixtures to be ugly and he'll let you go if you can show him where it says in the NEC it's not required they be ugly. :roll:

Tell him you can't find whats not in it.If he can't find an article to inforce what he says is a violation then it is NOT a violation.This applies to every item he picks on.
Print these replys and hand them to him.Also go over his head if need be to head of electrical inspections .Sounds like he is not much of an inspector

Thank's Bob I was sure that 300.4(F) couldn't be used for fitting's Just wasn't sure that there wasn't something else somewhere hidden in the NEC that he could come back with.
