300.5 Detector loops

I see no buriel depth exception for pre-fab vechicle detector loops. They are designed to be installed just below the blacktop but if I'm required to feed them at 24" below grade how does that work? Can one assume they are being installed as per their listed/approved purpose.

3" to 4" will be in spec.

I'm sure they would be classified as control wiring. 725.3 makes no mention of 300.5.

They are control wireing. They are brought to the edge of pavemant in 2" conduit to a window in the pavement. from here, they are cut into the structure course before the firction course is laid down.

Thank you, I knew detector loops are cut into the surface but I didn't see the exception 300.5
