Thanks to Pierre, this is the first I have noticed this requirement.

"(K) Directional Boring. Cables or raceways installed using directional boring equipment shall be approved for the purpose."

I am only guessing that this is up to the local AHJ?

Can't seem to get my UL White Book to work this morning. May have to reinstall

Most directional boring as far as raceway utilizes HDPE off a reel. One can find it's uses under NEC 353.
