Hello everyone, I have a question on what size conductors if any I could use on a 3000amp power supply. We are testing devices anywhere from 1000amps to 2800amps @ 5 volts DC. We are using a Magna power supply that is rated @ 2800amps. We need conductors from the power supply to the fixture device. During testing the power supply is on for approximately 3-5 seconds during a test and the test consist of 3 cycles, this happens every 45-60 seconds. Any suggestion on what conductors should I land from the power supply to the fixture, also the conductors would have a length of approximately of 5' If indeed I can underrate the conductors how would I safeguard the conductors if the power supply would happen to fail and carry the full potential for an extended period of time. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Your profile states engineering technician. I don't think this is something we can advise you on, as its outside the scope of the NEC. Who will be doing the installation? 3000 amps is a huge power supply even at 5 volts it could cause a fire if not properly protected. Send me message on how you are related to the electrical industry, who is doing the work/installation, etc. The NEC only covers premise wiring (IE building) and not test set ups
