3000a service

I have a set of plans calling for a 3000a service with spd.

My supplier is asking me if it needs to be integral or separate I'm not sure what he means by this the plans do not specifically state this..

I would assume it's to be integrally mounted inside the gear ?

Most of the 3000 amp gear we buy has the SPD device integral to the gear.

Same here, a tap off of the bus to a circuit breaker that feeds the unit.
