On a site visit last week for a project that we had designed I noticed the EC had run MC cable in PVC going underslab. 310.30 permits MC in "any raceway" but can it be used underslab?

In 30 years in this business I have never seen MC pulled in PVC before. I don't see any benefit by using this method here.

Under the slab would be considered a wet location. So I would say no, It coulld not be used.

This is not PVC coated, just plain old MC.

Plain old MC cable is not listed for use in a wet location.

Thanks guys, I guess I wasn't thinking "wet location".
