When calculating volume fill for boxes. A box has four number 12/2 cables and three Number 14/2 cables. you have over 4 grounding conductors. What is the calculation method for the remaining three? 3 x .25 =.75 + 2.25 = 3 cubic inches or 2.25 x .25 = .5625 x 3 = 1.68 + 2.25= 3.93 cubic inches

Box fill for EGC's has changed in the 2020 NEC are you asking under the 2020 NEC or earlier versions? For the 2020 this or your second calculation is correct:
1.75*2.25 = 3.93 or 4 cubic inches
